Jodorowsky’s directorial debut and an adaptation of the surreal play of the same name, Fando and Lis are in search of Tar, a heavenly city where one can reach eternity and enlightenment.
Following the film’s screening at the 1968 Acapulco Film Festival, a riot broke out, banning the film in Mexico, and ending the decade-long film festival.
