Far in the future, humanity survives in the few regions untouched by an all-consuming poisonous jungle. Princess Nausicaa believes in mending humanity’s relationship with nature, even if the goal proves to be a struggle. The film was produced before Studio Ghibli was officially founded, and is widely regarded as the unofficial predecessor that funded the company.
